Kohenoor International was founded in 1957 in Hyderabad, Sindh, as a seed and grain trading house serving the farmers of the lower Indus. Sixty-nine years and three generations later it is a seed producer and exporter with 150 staff, a grower network of more than 500,000 farmers, an ISTA-standard laboratory, Buhler Sortex processing and customers in 70+ countries. The head office is still at 1336 Old Subzi Market, Hyderabad.
1957 to today
First generation (1957–1980s). The founder began trading seed, grain and pulses in Hyderabad's old vegetable market, supplying growers across Sindh and buying back their harvest. Alfalfa, berseem and sorghum for local dairy farms were the first seed lines.
Second generation (1980s–2000s). The company moved into contract seed production, registered varieties with NARC, built its first cleaning plant and started exporting forage seed to the Gulf as the region's dairy industry grew. Kohenoor became one of the early Alibaba Gold Suppliers and a TDAP-registered exporter.
Third generation (2000s–present). The current management added the ISTA-standard laboratory, Buhler Sortex lines, ISO 9001:2015 and HACCP certification, the R&D trial station, the Dubai entity Kehkashan International L.L.C-FZ, and a family of specialist product sites. Exports now cover 28 product lines to 70+ countries.
The farmer network
Kohenoor works with more than 500,000 farmers across Sindh and southern Punjab through a network of field officers, input dealers and buy-back agreements. For seed multiplication, a selected group of growers receives foundation seed, agronomy support and a guaranteed price, and delivers a crop that is sampled and tested on intake. This is why lot identity is known from field to bag and why we can commit to new-crop volumes before harvest. The same network supplies our spice, sesame and guar lines.

The team
150 staff across production, laboratory, processing, export documentation, logistics and sales. The export desk works in English, Arabic, Urdu and Chinese and answers every enquiry within 24 hours on working days. Management attends the main trade fairs each year (Gulfood, SIAL, Biofach, the ISF World Seed Congress and regional agriculture shows) and visits key customers in the Gulf, Africa and East Asia.

Both, in the sense that we produce seed under contract with our own growers from our own foundation seed, clean and test it in our own facilities, and export it directly. We do not buy anonymous seed on the open market for export.
