How buying works in 5 steps
The process from enquiry to delivery, as it actually runs for a first-time importer. The full version is on the import guide.
- 1. Enquiry. Send product, quantity, destination port and target sowing or use date by the form below, email or WhatsApp. We reply with a pro forma invoice within 24 hours: FOB or CIF price, MOQ, lead time and document list.
- 2. Sample and specification. A 500 g–1 kg sample and the current lab report go out by courier at cost. You confirm purity, germination, variety and pack size; we lock the lot.
- 3. Contract and payment. Sales contract on our pro forma; payment by LC at sight or 30% advance with 70% against a copy of the bill of lading.
- 4. Production and documents. Cleaning, bagging and lab testing take 2–4 weeks. DPP inspection and phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, ISTA-format report and, if needed, fumigation are done before loading.
- 5. Loading and shipping. Container stuffed at our Hyderabad warehouse or Karachi CFS with loading photos sent the same day. Transit is 5–12 days to the Gulf, 12–20 days to Africa and the Mediterranean, 20–28 days to East Asia and Europe.

Quality you can check before you pay
Our seed testing laboratory works to ISTA rules: purity analysis on a working sample, germination on 400 seeds in four replicates, moisture by oven method, and a separate dodder and other-seed count. Every lot also passes over Buhler Sortex optical sorters before bagging. The lab report goes to the buyer before payment, and we accept re-testing by any ISTA-accredited station as the reference.

Documents supplied with every shipment
Customs clearance in most countries needs the same six documents. All are issued or arranged by us and sent as scans before the vessel sails, with originals by courier or through the bank under an LC.
- Phytosanitary certificate — Department of Plant Protection (DPP), Government of Pakistan
- Certificate of origin — Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- ISTA-format purity and germination test report — Kohenoor laboratory
- Commercial invoice and packing list with lot numbers and bag counts
- Bill of lading — shipping line, Karachi or Port Qasim
- Fumigation certificate on request; COA and MSDS for herbs, spices and botanicals

Markets
Kohenoor ships to 70+ countries. The markets section has a page for each of the 56 destinations we serve most often, with ports, transit times from Karachi, the plant-quarantine authority and the import documents that authority asks for. The Gulf takes forage seed for dairy farms; East Africa and the Sahel take sorghum, pearl millet and rhodes; Central Asia takes alfalfa, ryegrass and Sudan grass by road and rail; East Asia and Europe take sprouting seed, sesame, fenugreek and botanicals.
For Arabic-speaking buyers, our Dubai entity Kehkashan International L.L.C-FZ (kehkashanco.com) can invoice and deliver from the UAE.

Why buyers switch to Kohenoor
Most of our new customers arrive after a bad experience elsewhere: a lot that tested 70% on arrival, a phytosanitary certificate with the wrong wording, a shipment three weeks late for sowing. What they get here:
- Seed from our own contracted growers, not the open market, so variety and lot identity are known from field to bag.
- An in-house ISTA-standard lab that tests every lot before it is offered, and again before dispatch if the certificate is older than 90 days.
- Phytosanitary certificates drafted to the importing country's exact additional-declaration wording, checked against the permit before DPP inspection.
- Season planning: we tell you the realistic loading date for new crop and hold prior-crop stock so autumn sowings are never missed.
- Sixty-nine years of export history, ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, TDAP registration, Australian Seed Federation membership and an office you can visit in Hyderabad.

Frequently asked questions
What seeds does Pakistan export?
Pakistan's main seed exports are forage seed (alfalfa, berseem, Persian clover, rhodes grass, Panicum, Brachiaria, sorghum, Johnson grass, pearl millet, sesbania, ryegrass), guar seed, sesame and castor, and spice seeds such as fenugreek, fennel, cumin, nigella and garden cress. Kohenoor exports all of these plus dried rose petals, pine nuts, licorice, sea buckthorn and Himalayan pink salt.
What is the minimum order quantity?
One 20ft container, which is 18–20 MT for most seed. Exceptions: sprouting alfalfa 500 kg, rose petals 100 kg, pine nuts 500 kg, sea buckthorn 200 kg. LCL lots of 2–5 MT are possible on some lines at a higher per-kg rate.
How do you price seed: FOB or CIF?
Both. Standard quotes are FOB Karachi or Port Qasim; CIF to your port is quoted on request using the current freight rate. Prices are per kg or per MT in USD, valid for 7–14 days, and depend on crop year, purity grade, pack size and quantity. See the pricing and MOQ page.
Which payment terms do you accept?
Irrevocable LC at sight from a recognised bank, or 30% advance by TT with the balance 70% against a copy of the bill of lading. First orders from new buyers are usually on one of these two; open-account terms are considered after several shipments.
How long from order to delivery?
Production and documents take 2–4 weeks after payment or LC receipt. Sea transit from Karachi is 5–12 days to the Gulf, 10–16 days to East Africa and the Mediterranean, 18–28 days to East Asia and Europe, and 30–45 days to the Americas. Road delivery to Afghanistan takes 2–5 days.
Can I visit your facility or get a third-party inspection?
Yes. Buyers visit the Hyderabad warehouse, lab and Sortex lines by appointment. SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek and Cotecna all inspect and sample at our premises; pre-shipment inspection is standard for Iraq and is arranged for any buyer who asks.
